PND Engineers Juneau office is seeking a licensed professional land surveyor to expand our surveying services in Southeast Alaska. This is a full-time, year-round position offering a mix of technical office work, based in Juneau, and field survey work throughout the region. In this role you will:Oversee preparation of project deliverables such as plats, maps, reports, drawings for a variety of private and public sector clients.Produce boundary surveys, GNSS control networks, as-built design/topographic surveys, bathymetry, LiDAR, photogrammetry, and aerial imagery.Perform computations and draft client deliverables in AutoCAD Civil3D.Utilize various software packages for drafting, spatial data analysis and adjustment, LiDAR data processing, and orthomosaic aerial imagery processing.Plan and coordinate fieldwork logistics.Perform property boundary research.Maintain tools and instruments used in the field.Travel for out-of-town work, sometimes with overnight stays. Worksites range from urban to remote settings. Typical project durations vary from three to ten days. Overall travel commitment is approximately 30% but varies from season to season.Observe safety policies and procedures.Qualifications:5+ years of relevant field-to-finish experience for base mapping projects, record of surveys, and platting activities desired.State of Alaska Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.Experience with GIS data and software suites preferred.Ability to work safely in the outdoors, in all weather and temperature conditions, and to lift carry up to 50 lbs. over uneven terrain.Ability and willingness to travel by various means including: small aircraft, helicopters, boats, passenger vehicles, snowmachines, and all-terrain vehicles.Experience with Trimble GNSS equipment, Trimble laser scanners, robotic total stations, and a/or working knowledge of the software and related survey computations preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Experience with the competent and safe operation of passenger vehicles, boats, snowmachines, and all-terrain vehicles is preferred.Good driving record and valid Alaska driver's license.Why Juneau?Our Juneau office is conveniently located near the airport, housing, and recreational opportunities.
