Software Engineer

Overview In this role you will design and implement components across the system stack, from drivers to frameworks, and tackle complex, multi-layer issues. You will work with cross-functional teams to integrate partner components into a unified product and optimize performance spanning the stack. You’ll bring up new devices and perform debugging and tuning to ensure robust, scalable software. This position places you at customer locations in Redmond or Sunnyvale, contributing to high-quality consumer-focused software. ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement components across the system stack (drivers to frameworks)Debug system-level, multi-component issues spanning multiple layersProfile and optimize performance across the software stackBring up new devices and perform debugging and performance tuningUnderstand and integrate components from partner teams into the product codebaseDrive continued development of integrated components Key requirementsBachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field5+ years of experience with AOSP or Embedded Linux developmentExperience with systems software in a large-scale C/C++ code baseExperience with operating system internals and framework servicesFamiliarity with software development processes (source control, unit tests, bug tracking, design docs)AOSP/Embedded Linux developmentC/C++ programmingOS internals and framework servicesAndroid SDK, NDK, JNI and IPC mechanismsDevice bring up and Linux kernel customization
