Compri Consulting is searching for a Linux Systems Software Engineer for a contract-to-hire position in Boulder, Colorado. This is a hybrid role with 2 days/week onsite.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop low-level Linux systems software and platform componentsWork with Linux kernel subsystems, drivers, and system initialization processesSupport system architecture, bring-up, debugging, and performance tuningManage BIOS and firmware update processes for deployed systemsParticipate in Agile development using GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and JIRAUtilize AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code to improve engineering productivityRequired3-5 years of Linux systems software development experienceStrong C/C++ programming skillsExperience with Python and/or Bash scriptingDeep understanding of Linux internals and OS-level developmenetExperience with hardware/software integration and system bring-upStrong debugging and troubleshooting skills in complex environmentsBachelor's degreePreferredBIOS, firmware, or embedded systems experienceExperience building firmware update tools or bootable mediaBuild systems and toolchain experienceNetwork security knowledgeVirtualization or containerization experienceExperience working with globally distributed teamsPrinting, imaging, or hardware device experience
