Registered Nurse-Environmental Health Toxic Exposure (EHTE)
Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising the delivery of care to employees/veterans. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.Duties include:Demonstrates expertise in evidence-based practice/research resulting in improved outcomes beyond the immediate practice setting.Demonstrates expertise in managing resources that contribute to efficient, cost effective care and, sharing knowledge beyond the immediate practice setting.Demonstrates expertise in performance improvement by leading initiatives and sharing outcomes beyond the immediate practice setting.Demonstrates expertise by integrating patient preferences into care delivery decisions and sharing knowledge and outcomes with peers beyond the immediate practice setting.Able to administer the Toxic Exposure Screening to Veterans and enter a consult for follow-up care.Serve as the point of contact for disseminating information about the Toxic Exposure Screening to each VHA facility and report information and data back to PACT Act implementation leadersParticipate in the Community of Practice (CoP) to identify risks and barriers and share best practices associated with the implementation of the TES.Serve as point of contact for Veterans requiring additional assistance to resolve concernsConnect Veterans with follow-up care and will solicit assistance from supporting providers when Veteran needs are outside of the TES Navigator's scope of practice.Able to cross train with Employee Occupational Health (EOH) Nurses and function in EOH role.VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total RewardsPay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awardsPaid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VAInsurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territoryWork Schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Payscale: NG42Functional Statements: 61024-F through 61028-F
