Install glass panes into garage door sections. May be required to perform functions of other jobs within the department.Essential DutiesMove garage door sections from staging area to work areaInsert foam insulation per work orderUse chop saw to cut beading required per work orderInsert sealant tape into finished edge of opening for glass on the sectionObtain pre-cut glass or cut glass to size per work orderPerform quality check and fix any imperfectionsStack finished section on rolling palletMaintain a clean and safe working areaEssential Job Skills And ExperienceEducation/experience: Any combination of education providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be:High School Diploma or GED preferred Previous experience required, some experience working with glass preferredSkills/Knowledge RequiredMust be able to read a tape measureAbility to work independent and with a teamAbility to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance and more than 50lbs using a team-liftAbility to stand for extended periods of timeGood hand-eye coordination Physical Environment/Working ConditionsThis position involves standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day. It requires grasping and fine manipulation on both hands. The plant is not climate controlled. Noise levels can become high. NWD provides and requires hearing protection in the department.
