Component Engineer

DescriptionAcara Solutions is seeking a Component Engineer to join our client on a full-time direct hire opportunity located in Melbourne Florida$110,000 to $130,000/year salaryMedical, Dental, Vision, PTO, Paid Holidays, 401k matchWhat you'll be doing:Provide recommendations to design engineers and customers on electronic component selection and applicationReview engineering documentation including drawings, parts lists, and ECOs, and support implementation into MRP systemsManage and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and approved manufacturer lists within MRP databasesMonitor components for DMSMS (obsolescence and supply chain risks) and identify alternate solutionsPerform lifecycle analysis and BOM scrubs using third-party toolsDevelop and update Specification Control Drawings (SCDs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)Collaborate with purchasing, materials, and configuration management teams on product changes and job kickoffsEnsure adherence to quality management systems and internal engineering standardsSupport continuous improvement and reliability initiatives for electronic componentsJob RequirementsRequired Skills / Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 6+ years of experience as an Electrical Technician / Component SpecialistU.S. Citizenship required (due to customer ITAR requirements)Preferred Skills / Qualifications:Experience with component selection, specifications, and lifecycle managementWorking knowledge of military standards and specificationsExperience with BOM management and MRP systemsStrong communication skills and ability to work across cross-functional teamsAfter you apply, you may receive a call or message from our AI Talent Scout about this role or other opportunities that match your skills and preferences.
