Sr. Java Developer

Senior Backend EngineerInsight Global is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to support a large-scale initiative focused on modernizing and scaling personalized retail experiences across our client's digital and in-store platforms. This individual will provide hands-on engineering support across backend services, APIs, event-driven integrations, distributed data systems, and cloud-native platforms that support critical retail operations and high-volume transaction workflows. Day-to-day responsibilities include translating technical requirements into scalable backend solutions, building and enhancing Java/Spring Boot microservices, developing REST APIs, supporting Kafka integrations, working with Cassandra data models, participating in testing efforts, supporting Kubernetes deployments, and contributing to production readiness and post-release stabilization. This person will partner closely with Technical Leads, Product, QA, DevOps, Architecture, platform teams, and business stakeholders to resolve blockers, document technical work, support defect remediation, and ensure successful delivery of production-ready backend services. The ideal candidate will have a strong backend engineering background, experience working in complex enterprise environments, and the ability to stay hands-on while supporting projects through design, development, testing, release readiness, and production support.
