Supply Planner
SUMMARY This position is a highly analytical supply chain role that is responsible for the planning and execution of replenishment product into Armada managed facilities. Balancing optimized inventory levels and high customer service levels is achieved through a combination of integrated processes and technology. Effective, collaborative interaction with internal and external business partners is essential for overall success. RESPONSIBILITIES:Manipulate and analyze data to provide appropriate recommendations for demand driven purchasingEstablish proficiencies in the use of Armada's inventory management tool allowing for initial, replenishment, and phased item buysLeverage technology and processes to maintain 99.0 - 99.5% case fill rate while operating inside of budget requirements with minimal inventory write offsCollaborate with demand planning in the development of item specific inventory targets and safety stock levelsIdentify and communicate changes in sales patterns and demand due to promotions, seasonality and phasing items to demand planningDirect management of all item phases and run outMaintain item master data for all managed itemsAssess technology requirements needed to support current or proposed businessActively participate in design, testing, and implementation of new technology, tools, and processesDevelop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and clientsCollaborate as appropriate with account management and clients to attain business intelligence vital to developing the most accurate supply planCollaborate as appropriate with internal departments on joint efforts (i.e. transportation, warehouse ops, finance, engineering)Participate in and support new customer and/or business offering integration activitiesInitiate process improvements to optimize efficiencies and reduce costs (i.e. aging, slow moving, and short shelf life inventory)Develop, update, and maintain supply planning related SOPsLead or participate on project teams as requiredDesign and present analysis, project plans, initiatives, etc to peers, management, and cross functional partners as requiredPerform root cause analysis in developing corrective action plansDevelop and manage to relevant KPI's to support and measure the businessIdentify continuous improvement opportunitiesOther duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:None EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum: 1-5 years of supply chain industry experienceBachelor's degree in Business, Logistics or related fieldRelevant experience may be considered in lieu of appropriate degreeAbility to manipulate, assess, and interpret relevant dataStrong analytical abilities requiredStrong attention to detail requiredStrong communication and interpersonal skills are required to interact cross-functionally and with higher-level management.Preferred: Experience with sales forecasts/demand planningExperience with an advanced planning system i.e. Manugistics, Demantra, Logility, JDAJD Edwards ERP experienceExcel, Access, SQL, Cognos, miscellaneous systems experience to assist in highly analytic activityAPICS certificationLanguage and technical skills requirement Understanding of demand, supply, and replenishment planning terms and conceptsUnderstanding of general logistics terms and conceptsProficient in Microsoft Word and ExcelExcellent problem solving ability with demonstrated experiences of managing with factsExcellent communication skills including listening, written, oral and group presentationAbility to communicate with different levels of the organizationExperience and understanding of ERP systemsPhysical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
