Fiber Network Engineer / CoordinatorWe are seeking a Fiber Network Engineer / Coordinator to support the planning, design, testing, coordination, and operational oversight of a growing fiber optic network. This position combines outside plant (OSP) fiber engineering with network reliability coordination and collaboration with network operations teams. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who is detail-oriented and enjoys working across both field and network environments.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform and review OSP fiber route designs for aerial and underground networks.Support field walkouts, permitting activities, and engineering reviews.Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and network operations personnel.Monitor network performance, reliability, and outage response activities.Assist in troubleshooting, commissioning, and network fiber optic testing using OTDRs, power meters, and visual fault splice plans, construction drawings, fiber schematics, and test results.Maintain project documentation, as-builts, certification reports, and fiber asset records.Update network diagrams, splice logs, rack layouts, and test in an on-call rotation to support network events and outage response.Ensure compliance with industry best practices for cable management, labeling, grounding, and environmental protection.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.Relevant industry experience and certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.3+ years of experience in OSP fiber design, engineering, or construction understanding of fiber network infrastructure.Experience working with or coordinating alongside Network Operations Center (NOC) teams.Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, DHCP, VLANs, and Layer 1/2/3 devices.Ability to interpret fiber test results, OTDR traces, and related with CAD, GIS, or fiber management platforms such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, OSPInsight, Vetro, or similar tools.What You'll BringExcellent communication and organizational skills.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.Ability to coordinate multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation.
