This position ensures all meals are prepared in a sanitized environment and in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations./ph3Qualifications/h3pQualifications:/pulliCurrent state Food Manager Certificate./liliExperience in quality food preparation and production in either long-term care or healthcare setting is preferred./liliAbility to read, write, and speak the English language./li/ulh3Essential Functions:/h3ulliPrepares or directs preparation of food items on assigned/scheduled menus./liliAdheres to food production and usage schedules and avoids waste./liliAppropriately and immediately labels, dates, and stores food items/leftovers after use./liliMaintains sanitation of equipment and utensils, all work, and storage areas by cleaning immediately after use./liliPrepares or directs preparation of special items, meals, and snacks./liliPrepares special snacks and supplements as instructed by Nutrition Services Director/Chef and identifies with patient name, room number, date, and time./liliIdentifies and corrects safety hazards in food service areas./liliAssists in establishment and maintenance of perpetual supplies inventory and notifies Nutrition Services Director of shortages or discrepancies./liliComplies with established policy, practices, and standards for food preparation./liliLog and records temperatures of food, refrigerators, freezers, and dispensers as appropriate./liliMay assist in the training, orientation and supervision of newly hired Nutrition Services staff when assigned as a PIE (Partner in Excellence)./liliInstruct and supervise workers in maintenance and care of equipment in absence of the Nutrition Services Director/Chef./liliOrient and instruct new employees in regulations and policies in conjunction with the Nutrition Services Director./liliDetermine that food is prepared and served on trays as attractively as possible and that the flavor and temperature are correct (check trays as they leave department)./liliAssist in standardization of recipes to meet menu needs./liliMaintain portion control of foods served./liliAssist in checking food supplies on food order forms as they arrive from vendors./liliAs needed, unpack and store food and supplies as they arrive./liliMaintain orderly and correct storage of all food items, dry storage, freezer storage, and refrigerator storage./liliPrepare tray cards in the absence of the Nutrition Services Director/Chef/Ticket Aide./liliAbility to function as a Team Leader/Role Model./liliHas reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network Clinical Policies and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it./liliAttends weekly in-services, understands, and complies with Patient Care Management Systems./liliResponsible for assuring patient/resident safety./liliPerforms other duties and tasks as assigned./li/ulpWe are an Equal opportunity employer; We offer an excellent benefit plan to include 401K with match, CEU reimbursement, vacation, sick, holidays, medical, dental, and supplemental insurance Plans as well as a Highly competitive compensation package./p/div
