Department ProfileThe Operations Support Services Department provides services to support the mission and ministry of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod at the LCMS International Center. These services include: Building Services, Reception and Meeting Services, Mail and Print Services, Information Technology Desktop and Infrastructure Support Services, Technology Applications Group, and Overall Service Coordination. The Mail and Print Services team provides photocopying, printing and paper processing, mail and package sending and receiving, and loading dock services to the LCMS, Concordia Plans and The LCMS Foundation. The team also provides mail, print and package delivery services to The Lutheran Church Extension Fund. Reception and Meeting Services assists with coordinating meetings and events that take place at the LCMS International Center. This includes conference room scheduling and set up, as well as event catering needs. Meeting and Reception Services provides Front Desk services ensuring that all guests are greeted in a friendly and professional manner. The Front Desk also ensures all building entry security policies and procedures are followed. Reporting RelationshipsReports to Security and Reception Services Manager with input from the Manager - Mail and Print Services. Functions as a member of the Mail and Print Services / Reception and Meeting Services teams. Essential Job FunctionsReception / Meeting ServicesPrimary backup in the management of the badge access, camera security, and visitor management systems and the Cyber Security Awareness Training program.Help manage and enforce all policies, processes, and procedures that impact building access for employees and visitors.Greet visitors to the LCMS International Center in a friendly, professional and helpful way.Assist in the scheduling of International Center ToursAssist Manager - Meeting Services with coordinating conferences and meeting at the International Center to include room scheduling, food service orders and other meeting needs. Provide administrative support to the Operations Support Services team as needed. Mail / Print ServicesComplete mail runs to distribute mail and pick up outgoing mail throughout the International Center.Assist as needed in the daily pickup and delivery of mail to and from the Kirkwood Post Office.Assist as needed in assembling mailings.Assist as needed - Staff the service window as needed and answer telephones to collect work requests and communicate completion estimates/manage customer expectations on behalf of the Print/Mail Services team.Assist as needed - Deliver all time sensitive and signature required parcels through the 1333 building - obtaining signatures and maintaining accurate records.Assist as needed with processing outgoing mail via computer-based shipping system and ensuring related accurate record keeping.Assist as needed - Process print jobs and operate printers and other production machines in the Print Services. Education and ExperienceCollege degree or at least three years' clerical/administrative experience required.Experience in a print / mail room a plus but not required. Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)Customer service oriented with exemplary interpersonal skills, personality and attitude that establishes a favorable rapport with IC employees and visitors.Local travel as needed.Must have a good driving record.Available to occasionally/rarely work unusual or long hours, including holidays and Sundays, to support department operations.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, TEAMS, Excel, Word, etc.)Operate a battery-operated pallet jack, major shipping/postage systems, high speed printers and other print and mail services equipment including folders, inserters and labelers.Proven ability to work independently, plan daily work, and assist in establishing priorities to achieve unit's required objectives.Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel/management/membership of Synod.Must maintain the highest level of integrity, be customer oriented and maintain a positive attitude.Supports the team concept by maintaining a positive working relationship with team members and other service units.
