This is an opportunity to step into a visible role where your work directly impacts decision-making at the leadership level.About the OrganizationEstablished and stable company with a strong reputation in its marketMid-sized team with consistent year-over-year growthProvides specialized contracting and service-based solutionsLong-standing client relationships across institutional and commercial sectorsCollaborative leadership team with a practical, team-first approachFocused on sustainable growth, operational excellence, and long-term employee retentionWhat You’ll OwnFinancial Leadership & ReportingLead and manage the monthly close process with a focus on accuracy and timelinessPrepare and deliver financial statements in accordance with GAAP and industry standardsMaintain and analyze Work in Progress (WIP) schedules, including percent-complete and margin projectionsPartner with external financial advisors on year-end close and financial reviewsEnsure accuracy and integrity of financial systems and reporting toolsProject & Operational PartnershipCollaborate closely with project and operations teams to monitor financial performanceProvide insight into job costing, variances, and profitabilitySupport billing processes, including progress billing and contract complianceHelp drive consistency in cost coding and financial tracking across projectsContribute to bid support and financial components of project planningCash Flow & Business PerformanceMonitor cash flow, working capital, and project-level financial needsDevelop and maintain short-term cash flow forecastsSupport budgeting and forecasting initiativesIdentify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and visibilityProvide leadership with actionable financial insights to support decision-makingLeadership & Team DevelopmentLead and develop a small accounting team across AP/AR and payroll functionsEstablish clear processes, accountability, and structure within the departmentFoster a collaborative, solutions-oriented team environmentAct as a key contributor to cross-functional leadership discussionsCompliance & Risk ManagementEnsure compliance with tax regulations, prevailing wage requirements, and industry standardsSupport audits, bonding requirements, and insurance processesMaintain strong internal controls and financial safeguardsWhat You Bring5–10+ years of accounting/finance experience, with construction industry experience requiredStrong expertise in:WIP & percentage-of-completion accountingJob costing and cost codingPrevailing wage complianceExperience with construction accounting systems (e.g., Sage or similar)Proven ability to partner effectively with operations and project teamsHands-on, proactive approach with strong problem-solving skillsWhy This RoleHigh visibility and direct impact on business performanceOpportunity to shape and improve financial processes in a growing companyClose partnership with leadership and operationsStable environment with long-term growth potential
