Federal Construction Site Superintendent
Borealis Enterprises, LLC, is seeking a Federal Construction Site Superintendent in Niagara, New York. Borealis Enterprises, LLC is an entity of NTVI Federal, Inc, a federal contractor engaged in construction, , facility management, professional services and telecommunications, with its corporate office in Chantilly, Virginia.The Superintendent oversees total project supervision to ensure that budgets and schedules are met and projects are completed in accordance with project contract document and site while serving as senior technical advisor on projects; assists with difficult construction or startup problems, schedule compliance, maintains continuous, open communication with project managers, quality control managers clients, and subcontractors; assists in labor disputes and negotiations as required; coordinates manpower, equipment and supplies; ensures that company, department, and technical policies, procedures and standards are adhered to; interprets policies as needed. Provides technical advice to projects as needed; completes general project-related paperwork to ensure project events are properly documented; and performs additional duties as assigned.ResponsibilitiesThorough understanding of all aspects regarding construction. (technology, compliance, equipment, methods)Solid understanding of construction schedulingDemonstrated leadership ability is essentialAbility to manage multiple projects and multitaskShall provide on-site supervisionSubmit detailed daily and weekly progress reportsSchedule and coordinate subcontractors and material suppliersAttend all status meetings, site visits and pre-final/final inspectionsMay be assigned to more than one contractMust visit each respective job sites dailyMust be at the project site when work is being performedMust arrive at the job site within 30 minutes of telephone direction from the (CO), Contract Specialist or Construction InspectorComprehensive knowledge of company policies, procedures, and standardsExcellent communication, organizational, supervisory, and planning skills are a mustAbove average computer skillsFamiliar with storm water pollution prevention, water pollution control programs associated with EPA requirementsExperience with Traffic Controls on Highways, Sign relocations, and diverse experience with Civil/Land Development, Erosion and Sediment Control work such as asphalt/pavement, concrete, earth work, retaining walls, fencing and gate installation, guardrail approved systems and installation methods and some electrical experience/understanding requiredQualificationsMinimum of 7 years’ experience or greater in construction (federal, commercial, and industrial) with at least 2 years’ experience as a superintendent on commercial projects with $50K-$15M similar in size and complexity.Must be familiar with the requirements of EM 385-1-1 and have experience in the areas of hazard identification and safety compliance.Background in Quality Control, with strong documentation skills is highly desiredOSHA 30 training certificate & CPR/ First Aid training preferredCQM-C Certification is a plus.Join the team!
