Kelly Engineering is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join one of our leading full-service electrical engineering and lighting design clients in their Pensacola, FL location.Please apply to learn more!Ideal CandidateBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 4–7+ years of experience in consulting engineering, MEP, or AEC environments supporting building electrical systems.Proven expertise designing power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, and signal systems for commercial, industrial, government, education, and residential projects.Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards, and experience performing load calculations, short-circuit studies, coordination studies, and arc-flash analyses.Proficient with AutoCAD and/or Revit, with the ability to produce complete construction documents including one-lines, riser diagrams, panel schedules, specifications, and permit-ready drawings.SummarySeeking a Mid–Senior Electrical Engineer to support Florida projects from its Pensacola location, with the role aligned to the AEC’s broader multidisciplinary AEC platform and informed by the electrical design depth and the integrated project delivery model represented.The position is intended for an engineer who can lead electrical building-systems design for commercial, industrial, institutional, and public-facing facilities while coordinating effectively with architectural, structural, civil, and MEP partners.Key ResponsibilitiesLead electrical system design for commercial, industrial, institutional, and municipal-style building projects, including normal power, lighting, lighting controls, and low-voltage/signal systems.Prepare electrical drawings, calculations, schedules, and specifications for permit, bid, and construction packages.Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, panelboard layouts, voltage-drop analysis, and other core design studies; support short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash analysis when project scope requires it.Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, civil, and mechanical teams in a multidisciplinary consulting environment consistent with the AEC’s platform model.Support healthcare, education, commercial, hospitality, light industrial, or civic/public-sector project types as needed based on regional workload.Participate in AHJ responses, utility coordination, contractor communications, RFIs, submittal review, and field observation during construction.Provide technical guidance to junior staff and contribute to quality control of design packages.Sign and seal documents for Florida projects when licensed in Florida and designated as Engineer of Record.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.4–7 years of experience in electrical consulting or building-systems design.Experience supporting commercial, industrial, institutional, mission-critical, or similarly complex facility types.Strong knowledge of NEC, electrical distribution design, lighting systems, and construction-document development.Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit and strong interdisciplinary coordination skills.Ability to manage design packages with limited PM oversight and strong attention to detail.Preferred QualificationsActive Florida PE license, with ability to serve as Engineer of Record and sign/seal project documents in Florida.Experience with standby/emergency power systems, resiliency-focused design, or facilities requiring robust operational continuity.Experience in multidisciplinary AEC teams supporting commercial, institutional, or light industrial projects.
