We serve approximately 715 students across three schools and approximately 250 students in 9th-12t, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment for all.Position DescriptionThe Bentley Community School District is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our faculty as a full-time custodian. The school custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of the school building and grounds. This role involves performing a variety of task, including cleaning, minor repairs, and general maintenance.Essential Job FunctionsKeep building and premises neat and clean at all timesCheck daily to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during the hours of building occupancySweep classrooms regularly and dust furnitureClean corridors after school daily, and during the dayMaintain floors in a clean and attractive conditionScrub, hoses down, and disinfects toilet floors daily, and cleans all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains dailyWash all windows inside and outside at least twice each year, and more frequently if necessaryKeep the grounds free from rubbishMake minor building repairsReports immediately to the Principal, any damage to school propertyRemain on school premises during school hours, and during non-school hours when the use of the building has been authorized and custodial attendance is requiredResponsible for closing the building, securing all doors and windows, and turning off lights where appropriateComplies with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, and wastePerform other duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentPhysical fitness to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periodsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsBasic knowledge of cleaning products and equipmentAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsReports ToDirector of OperationsWorkday/WeekFull-timeStarting DateASAPPosting Date9/09/2024APPLY: www.bentleyschools.org or https://www.gecs-inc.org/bentley.htmlPosting DeadlineUntil Position is FilledThe Board of Education does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex (including sexual orientation or transgender identity), disability, age (except as authorized by law), religion, military status, ancestry, or genetic information (collectively, "Protected Classes") in its educational programs or activities.
