Job Description Applying for this role is straight forward Scroll down and click on Apply to be considered for this position.SummaryThe Nutrition Coordinator manages and oversees agency-wide nutrition services to ensure the delivery of a high-quality, compliant, and safe food service program across all MVCDC sites. This role ensures compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, CACFP regulations, DCY licensing standards, USDA requirements, local health department regulations, and MVCDC policies and procedures. The Nutrition Coordinator provides leadership, training, and technical assistance to nutrition staff while supporting child health, safety, and individualized dietary needs across the program.DutiesSupport the mission, goals, and quality standards of MVCDC.Ensure compliance with Head Start, CACFP, DCY, USDA, and Health Department regulations.Maintain documentation for audits, monitoring, and confidentiality requirements.Coordinate food service operations for cook and catered sites.Monitor food allergies, dietary accommodations, and nutrition requirements.Ensure sanitation, food safety, and proper kitchen operations.Coordinate kitchen equipment maintenance and vendor support.Assist with food purchasing, invoices, and inventory processes.Supervise, train, and support nutrition staff across locations.Provide technical assistance and training to staff, families, and volunteers.Represent MVCDC professionally with staff, families, and community partners.Ensure active supervision and safety of children at all times.Assist with meal preparation and service as needed.Collaborate with program teams to support child and family outcomes.Participate in professional development and continuous improvement activities.Perform other duties as assigned.RequirementsBachelor’s degree (Required) One year’s experience in food, nutrition services supervision experience (Required)Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain within MVCDC timeframe) (Required)Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)Ability to meet and maintain compliance with ODJFS, CACFP, USDA, Health, and Sanitation regulationsExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsCollaborative, team-oriented with positive and dedicated work ethic to children and familiesWillingness to continue professional education and learningNice To HavesDegree in food and nutrition, Dietetics, Hospitality or related field (Preferred)Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (Preferred) One year’s experience working with early childhood/elementary children (Preferred)Knowledge of USDA and CACFP requirements (Preferred) Level 2 Serve Safe Certification (Preferred) BenefitsStudent Loan Forgiveness, PTO days, paid holidays, 401k, medical, dental and vision.Miami Valley Child Development Centers provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws. xaygatp This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.
