Shipping and Receiving Specialist

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our fast-paced warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the accurate and efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. Your expertise will ensure seamless warehouse operations, supporting order fulfillment, inventory accuracy, and timely delivery. Responsibilities Receive incoming shipments by inspecting, verifying quantities, and recording deliveries using RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS). Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling orders accurately for dispatch. Operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely to load and unload trucks. Maintain organized storage areas through effective stocking and inventory management practices aligned with warehouse distribution standards. Utilize warehouse management systems such as AS400 or MRP software to track inventory levels, process orders, and update stock records. Ensure proper packaging of products to prevent damage during transit while adhering to safety and quality standards. Conduct regular stock counts, reconcile discrepancies, and assist with cycle counts to support inventory accuracy. Support order fulfillment processes by selecting items efficiently using order pickers and ensuring timely processing for e-commerce or bulk orders. Qualifications Proven experience working in a warehouse environment with knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures. Valid certification or experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400, or MRP software is highly desirable. Strong understanding of order picking & packing techniques along with basic math skills for inventory calculations. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy items, load & unload trucks, and standing for extended periods. Prior experience with warehouse distribution processes such as stocking, order fulfillment, and inventory control is preferred.
