Thisincludes managing a team of technicians, coordinating system upgrades and enhancements, ensuringcompliance with industry regulations, and analyzing data to identify trends and improve systemperformance. The manager also collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to implement newtechnologies and processes that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's point-of saleand fare collection systems.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Manages the design, development, testing, implementation and support of a 24/7 Point-of-Sale (POS) and fare collection systems for NJ TRANSIT.Develops and monitors project plans for all assigned systems and reports status to Director, POS and Fare Collection Systems. Tracks operating and capital project monies and monitor's project progress.Manages and coordinates the activities of assigned personnel and provides technical assistance as needed. Coordinates project tasks between POS managers, fare collection supply vendors, and other NJ TRANSIT departments.Participates in various committees and project groups that maintain quality assurance standards and up–to-date POS technology, both internally and interagency related.Identifies and procures hardware/software, consulting services, and application development tools to implement new systems and expand existing production systems.Performs required business and functional requirements for new system request, as well as enhancements to existing systems.Defines needs for new POS and fare collection systems as necessary. Develops technical specifications, researches new technologies and recommends purchase of new hardware, software and maintenance plans.Monitors selected vendor performance and directs their efforts and personnel as they develop new POS and fare collection systems for NJ TRANSIT.
