Temporary Speech Language PathologistJob Status: OPEN Posting Date: 10/21/2025 Posting Number: 012534 Location: Special Services Position Title: Temporary Speech Language Pathologist Wage/Hour Status: Exempt Reports To: Executive Director of Special ServicesPrimary Purpose:To improve the structure and organization of verbal language in those students deficient in the area of oral communication.Qualifications: Education/Certification:* Bachelor's Degree in Speech Therapy with certification/licensure as required by the state or* Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology with state licensureSpecial Knowledge/Skills:* Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptableExperience:* None.Major Responsibilities and Duties:* Provides information to school staff and intervention teams regarding identification ofcommunication disorders.Administers speech and language examination to students referred by the student intervention team.Makes a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, fluency, and language impairments on all students enrolled in speech therapy program and records information in student's speech folder.Formulates and documents a plan of therapy for each child enrolled in therapy.Confers with each student's teacher regarding the communication disorder.Maintains attendance records of therapy sessions for each student.Serves as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement.Serves on ARD committee of the building in which he/she teaches.Comprehensively re-evaluates students receiving speech services in accordance with district, state and federal guidelines.Maintains compliance with required timelines for evaluation reports and ARD committee meetings.Provides information and support to parent and/or school personnel when appropriate.Performs any other duties as the superintendent may assign.Supervisory Responsibilities:None.Customer Care Skills:Provide professional communication with students, parents, community members, staff and other professionals at all times.Use proper phone etiquette at all times, speaking slowly and clearly. Take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.Ensure superior customer care skills are used via eye contact, facial expressions, voice inflections, body language, and an attitude of "going the extra mile" for others.Ensure all requests for information are dealt with in an appropriate timeframe.Create and maintain a welcoming, service-oriented environment toward all internal and external customers.Mental Demands/Physical Demands:Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripheralsPosture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twistingMotion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reachingLifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel; occasional statewide travel and out-of-state travelMental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stressSalary: Pay Grade PG02 Days: 187
