Marine Trim Carpenter
Job Title : Marine Trim Carpenter Pay range : $ 22.00 - $24.00 Location: Sarasota, FL Essential Duties and Responsibilities :Installs the pre-made custom deck sections / composite deck sections and trim work that is delivered to the customer's vessel in various shipyards following proper standard operating procedures (S.O.P.s).Is responsible for the security of material on installations.Represents client in interactions with customers and their agents.Must combine panels of battens that have been attached together on the underside and sealed side by side with caulk.Must trim the panels to precise measurements to the pattern of the deck.Must have the ability to work in a kneeling, crouching, bending position on shipboard for extended periods of time and be subject to outside weather conditions which may include high heat, cold, rain, and rolling seas.Must have the ability to work with various tools such as:table sawsband sawsplanerscircular sawsmiter sawsbelt sanderslevels and measuresother required hand toolsMust have the ability to read, understand, follow and work with templates, work orders, SOPs, and documents needed for the accurate installation of the deck panels and trim.Must maintain a daily job sheet to record projects worked on, time and materials used.Must keep work area clean, neat and organized.Functions as a Trim Carpenter and reports to Production Services when working in factory.Attend all scheduled shifts keeping accurate time and work order records.Accurately maintains all records pertinent to area of responsibility.Performs all other related duties as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements :High school or GED preferred.Must have 5 years' marine carpentry experienceMust be able to competently operate all hand, portable power and fixed woodworking power tools.Must be able to measure and perform basic arithmetical calculations.Must have team leader abilities and strong customer relations skills.Must be able to interact with outside contractors. Must occasionally move or lift to 70 lbs.
