About the Opportunity: The Associate Data Engineer supports the External Data function within the Data Science team. This role focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines that integrate third-party data into underwriting, claims, and business intelligence processes. It plays a crucial part in ensuring reliable data delivery for analytics and modeling, contributing to informed decision-making.3. Responsibilities:Build and maintain batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines feeding a cloud data warehouseDevelop, schedule, and monitor cloud data jobs, troubleshoot failures, and optimize performance and costsImplement load logic to prevent duplicate data during reprocessing and backfillsIntegrate external data providers and APIs with appropriate authentication and error handlingConduct data quality checks, validation, and alerting to detect pipeline issues earlyManage pipeline deployment using infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD practicesSupport data migrations and service updates ensuring minimal downtimeProvide clean, analytics-ready datasets for data scientists and analysts4. Requirements:1 to 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or related software/data rolesBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experienceProficiency in Python and SQL programmingUnderstanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data pipeline constructionExperience with at least one major cloud platform, preferably AWSFamiliarity with REST APIs and external data source integrationStrong focus on data quality and reliabilityEffective communication skills with technical and business stakeholders5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:Annual base pay ranges from $71,600 to $105,000 depending on experience and other factors6.
