Reports To: Director of Student Services
Purpose: The central office registrar will manage student registration, residency, and records, and will also serve as the district receptionist.
Performance Responsibilities: Maintain the accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity of student information. Manage and analyze high volumes of data related to student registration, residency, and records (incoming and exiting). Facilitate the transfer and processing of all incoming and outgoing student records. Manage the maintenance of the district temporary and permanent student records process. Coordinate and provide backup support for the Free/Reduced Application process in collaboration with Business Office personnel. Oversee student registration and residency processes to ensure compliance and efficiency. Coordinate and process staff workshop requests and professional learning opportunities funded by the Department of Teaching and Learning and building-level funds. Perform comprehensive office operations, including front desk support, mail processing and distribution, phone and voicemail management, postage and supply maintenance, coordination of bulk mailings, inventory oversight, and equipment service coordination. Support the development and distribution of district newsletters and other communication materials. Provide backup support to the Business Office for student fee collection. Execute emergency notification procedures as required. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Student Services Department and the Curriculum and Instruction Department.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of the Illinois School Code related to registration, residency, and records. Knowledge of legal requirements for protecting student information Skilled in providing excellent customer service and fostering positive interactions with stakeholders Skilled in maintaining integrity and upholding ethical standards in all aspects of work Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with others Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in record-keeping Ability to manage large projects with multiple deadline-driven objectives Ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and discretion in performing duties
Terms of Employment: 12 Months/260 Days. Salary to be established by the Board of Education.
Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated by the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning and/or designee in accordance with provisions of Board policy on evaluation of Educational Support Personnel.
