Interior Design Project Manager
Position Title: Project ManagerReports To: Principal Status: Full time, hourlySalary Range: $45-$52/hour, paid semi-monthly (1st and 15th)Pay Rate: Commensurate with experience.Location: On site, Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pmBenefits: Vacation and holidays, Health, Dental, Vision, 401K plan with profit sharing program, regular team outings, annual professional development stipend.Position Purpose: The Project Manager is responsible for the execution of all design projects, ensuring timelines, purchasing, budgets, and installations are delivered accurately, efficiently, and with a high level of accountability. This role serves as the primary operator of project execution, translating design intent into actionable plans and maintaining momentum across all phases of a project. This is a project-focused role.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include but are not limited to: Project Leadership & Execution:Own project timelines from concept through installation.Develop and maintain detailed, accurate project schedulesCoordinate internal team workflow to ensure deadlines are metLead weekly project status and expediting meetingMaintain accurate Asana tracking of tasks and timelines Identify, communicate, and resolve project-level risks proactivelyPurchasing & Order Management: Own the full purchasing lifecycle from quote to deliveryOwn financial and inventory binder filing and organizationReview and approve all Purchase Orders for accuracy and completenessReview and approve Client Order pricing in collaboration with the DesignerSupport Client Order development with retail quote requests and data entry as neededManage vendor communication, order tracking, and expeditingMaintain accurate and up-to-date expediting and studio inventory records in Studio DesignerResolve vendor QC issues, damages, and order discrepancies in a timely mannerManage accurate and timely monthly client Reimbursable Invoice creation and payment processing. Manage studio Inventory documentation and storage Manage and document studio’s storage items, both inventory and suppliesBudget & Financial Coordination (Project-Level): Attend client meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and create task lists for distribution using Asana.Ensure design selections align with approved budgetsCoordinate with Admin/Accounting on invoicing timelines and accuracyOversee timely and accurate vendor payments in coordination with Admin/AccountingCreate accurate and timely monthly Client Reimbursable invoicesReview monthly client Design Time invoicing for expediting and installation-related accuracyEnter accurate and timely monthly client Design Time information. Identify and flag financial discrepancies or risks earlyInstallation & Logistics: Plan and manage all project installations from scheduling through completionReceive and inspect all project items delivered to Studio MunroeCoordinate vendors, deliveries, and site logisticsManage warehouse coordination and delivery timelinesOversee installations onsite as neededEnsure quality control and resolution of any installation issuesCommunicate professionally and clearly with clients regarding installations and quality control itemsTrack installation process improvements and contribute to updates in Trainual and internal processesProcess Development (Project-Level):Build and document vendor communication protocolsImprove expediting tracking systems for ongoing enhanced usabilityStandardize installation timelines + checklistsStandardize quoting and ordering processBuild vendor coordination templatesDefine QC process and issue resolution protocolCreate documentation standardsTrain designers on: Better spec documentation, cleaner handoffs, budget awarenessQUALIFICATION STANDARDS:4+ years of project management experience in interior design or a related fieldStrong operational, financial, and logistical competencyProficiency in Studio Designer preferredHighly organized with strong attention to detailStrong communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Most work tasks are performed in a space where the environmental conditions vary widely.Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the property or other areas on a timely basis.Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. Must be able to move items weighing in excess of 50 lbs. routinely.Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to perform daily tasks.Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuityTalking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate basic design equipment.Must be able to work well under pressure managing multiple deadlines.Ability to work with potential allergenic properties inherent in various materials.
