If this sounds like you, come join Space Force Analytics (SFA) and a team of scientists, engineers, and space system acquisition experts that are developing the next generation of remote sensing satellite and ground systems.
You will work with SFA colleagues, other support contractors, and U.S. Space Force personnel to develop and implement safety strategies, System Safety Management Plans, Programmatic Environmental Safety and Health Evaluations (PESHEs), and Environmental Hazard Analyses. You will grow your skills by merging innovative safety methodologies and cross-disciplinary coordination to create tomorrow's solutions. Your expertise and innovative thinking will be critical to the success of the programs that you support. Our Mission Areas include Weather, Missile Warning, Missile Defense, and Tactical ISR Systems. The work may include 1 or 2 days per week on site and occasional travel to various contractor sites and U.S. Government installations.
You Have 5+ years of experience conducting systems engineering analysis, system safety analysis, risk management, or hazard analysis, and implementing DoD system safety programs including space, ground, software, or hardware systems
Experience defining and organizing program strategies and implementation plans for all phases of the acquisition life cycle that meet statutory, regulatory, federal, state, and local policies
Knowledge of MIL-STD-882 safety analysis and safety program implementation
Ability to develop, manage, and execute government and program system safety management plans, processes, and products, including the System Safety Master Plan (SSMP), PESHE, Environmental Safety and Health Evaluation Plan, Safety Release Memo, and Environmental Hazard Analysis
Ability to identify and communicate potential risks, hazards, and deficiencies in operating procedures, system design, and training documentation
Ability to communicate and establish collaborative relationships with government clients, Federally Funded Research and Developmental Centers (FFRDC), and associate contractor teammates to achieve program goals
Bachelor's degree in a STEM major
Nice if You Have Familiarity with space systems acquisition
Experience performing systems engineering, integration, and testing on space-based remote sensing systems
Experience planning and executing program reviews throughout the lifecycle of the system
Experience with Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH) risk management and NEPA compliance
Experience creating or reviewing Hazard Tracking Systems, Risk Acceptance Letters, and Safety Releases
Knowledge of Agile methodologies
Knowledge of DoD 5000.01 or 5000.02
Master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or CS INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Certification such as ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP Certification, or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification
TS/SCI clearance
