Open in Google Maps.Job DetailsJob ID: 5440769Application Deadline: Apr 06, 2026 11:59 PM (UTC)Re-Posted: Mar 23, 2026 7:04 PM (UTC)Job DescriptionPosition:Head Varsity Football CoachQualifications:Must hold or have held a teaching license and a minimum of five years varsity coaching experience preferredHead coaching or coordinator experience is necessary to be consideredCurrent & valid Pupil Activity Permit (Coach's Permit) through the Ohio State Board of EducationCurrent & valid certifications in CPR, First Aid, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Fundamentals of Coaching, Concussion, & Mental HealthHas demonstrated student-athlete and program success at previous coaching jobsExcellent management and organizational skillsStrong communicationskills and ability to collaborate with coaches, parents, students, and teachersSuccessful BCII & FBI background checksSuccessful Drug ScreenDuties/Responsibilities are listed below, however they are not limited to those listed:Oversee and coordinate the entire football program (grades 7-12) and assist other community feeder programs to insure a successful comprehensive football programRun a football program that always demonstrates dignity and mutual respectModel and instill in the players an attitude of good sportsmanship that builds teamwork and is based on solid moral and ethical valuesPromote school and community spirit for our football program by attending school rallies and booster, civic and other meetings to market the football programBuild positive relationships with student-athletes, parents and support groups for the benefit of the players and the football programProvide a fair due process procedure for student-athlete disciplinePromote and develop a good working relationship with all District staff membersPromote academic success and student leadership as an important priority for all student-athletesWork closely with the Athletic/Activities Director, high school and District-level administration to build leadership teams to promote excellence in all programmingWork with the Guidance Department to ensure that all football program participants and their parents have a sound understanding of eligibility requirementsPromote and support our student-athletes with college recruiting and placementInsure a career path for those student-athletes who will not play football in collegeLead, teach and evaluate the assistant coaching staff (grades 7-12) in relationship to the goals of the comprehensive successful football program as stated in this job descriptionWork closely with the Athletic/Activities Director to schedule football contests (grades 7-12)Work closely with all booster groups supporting the football programProvide a winter and summer conditioning program (grades 7-12) within the rules of the OHSAA that insures maximum participation and supervision.Abide by the policies and regulations of the Niles City School District Board of EducationPerform any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent, Principal and/or Athletic/Activities Director.Salary:27% of the base salary.Application Process:Please use the following link to complete the online application.
