Details 13-week contract with a 36-hour work week (three 12-hour day shifts per week) Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting Telemetry/progressive care patient population in an 18-plus bed unit Epic EMR experience preferred Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required Requirements Active NM or Compact RN license required Required certifications: BLS and ACLS — must be issued by the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross NIHSS certification preferred Minimum of 2 years of current experience in an 18-plus bed telemetry or progressive care unit required Must have completed at least one 13-week travel assignment prior to applying Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required Must pass an on-site Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test prior to starting the assignment English fluency required (speak, read, write) Additional Information Provides direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs Coordinates care through collaboration with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team Responsible for clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel Administers medications and treatments as prescribed and documents according to policy Identifies and addresses patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout the episode of care The on-site BCA test is administered on the first day of orientation; candidates have one opportunity to re-test if they do not pass initially — a second failure will result in contract termination Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position Former permanent staff of this health system must wait one year before being considered as a traveler Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment American Traveler Job ID P-683771.
