Lead Sanitation Technician

Primary FunctionPrimarily responsible for using chemicals and mixtures of cleaning solutions for cleaning and sanitizing assigned area, including equipment, to maintain sanitary conditions to mitigate bacteriological threats. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.ResponsibilitiesRESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS: Independently manages time to ensure area and equipment is sanitized, using required chemicals and cleaning solutions to reduce risk of bacteriological threatsTear down machinery, sanitize and reassemble prior to production startDirect the work of others and is the “go-to” for questions and concerns in the absence of supervisor or superintendent at their requestTrain lower level technicians as neededOther duties as assignedEducation And CertificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not requiredExperience And SkillsBasic understanding of machinery tear down and setupBasic understanding of chemicals preferredDemonstrated leadership abilitiesBasic math skillsAbility to work unsupervised and self-motivateAbility to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hoursSound work ethic, honesty and moral characterSafety RequirementsFollow departmental and company safety policies and programsMust wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required.Physical RequirementsStand up to 8 hoursLift up to 60 lbs including moving, lifting and pushing machineryExposure to wet and cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC)Will be exposed to noise of > 85 decibels, CO2 and moving production equipmentHandle a 900PSI water hose continuallyClimb ladders, stoop, reach overhead, bend and twist throughout shift as neededWork around raw, live animal odorsWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
