Facility Betsy Johnson Hospital Location Dunn, North Carolina Department Radiology Job Family Allied Health Work Shift Rotating Shifts (United States of America) Summary Perform all radiographic/fluoroscopic procedures for the diagnosis of specific diseases or conditions. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Major Job Functions The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time: Perform all procedures designated with the Diagnostic Section of RadiologyAssess patient, review physician order or patient chart as appropriatePrepare patient for the procedure, answer any questions or refers questions to the radiologist assignedTake all appropriate steps to minimize discomfort during radiographic examinations and provide privacy of the patientResponsible for the prompt completion and accurate recording of exam begin and end time in the Radiology Information System (RIS) to ensure timely access to study by the radiologistProvide safe environment to include, but not limited to radiation exposure, infection control guidelines and Universal PrecautionsComply with Radiation Protection Plan, including proper use of shielding and dosimeter usageMonitor timeliness of exams and quality of care based on established department goalsPerform QA of exams (correct order, accurate/complete image annotation, correct laterality, and the correct presentation state) prior to sending to radiologist for interpretationSubmit work orders for Clinical Technology Services when equipment is downOther duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job: Education and Formal Training: Associate's degree from an accredited program in Radiologic Sciences requiredARRT (Radiography) registered requiredNew graduates that are registry eligible must be registered by ARRT in Radiography within 12 months of hire date required Work Experience: 2 years of experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Positive interpersonal skillsVerbal and written skills requiredGood patient care, knowledge of growth and development and understanding of the range of treatment needed for all age groups Physical Requirements: Much standing and walkingManual dexterity and visual acuityMobility to assume awkward positions and respond to emergency situationsPosition may require coming in contact with skin, eye or mucous membrane and may come in contact with blood or other potentially infectious materialAbility to bend and lift up to 100 pounds and carry objects up to 50 pounds Required Licenses and Certifications ARRT - American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists Cape Fear Valley Health System is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity
