The program has been replicated in cities across the country.The Doe Fund has an annual operating budget of $65 million and a full-time staff of 400+.We are seeking a Full Time Resident Manager for The Doe Fund's newest permanent supportive housing for homeless individuals including veterans living with a severe mental illness and/or history of substance use. The housing program is designed to provide long-term residential care and twenty-four-hour support services in a community environment that maximizes residents' independence while ensuring their physical and emotional security and well-being. This 90-unit residence will provide housing for 54 individuals referred by the NYC Human Resources Administration (HRA) and the rest 36 units will be apartments for affordable to low-income householdsThe Resident Manager is responsible for the supervision of the residents and the overall operation of the residence during designated shifts. S/he will work collaboratively with the Clinical team and the Program Director to ensure that resident needs are being met as well as the safety of the residence. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills along with experience working with individuals diagnosed with mental illness and/or substance use disorder.The shifts we are looking to cover are: Monday - Friday 4:00 pm to 12:00 am OR 12 am to 8 am.The Ideal Candidate:You have a High School diploma or GED, some college preferredYou have a Fire Safety certification is preferred (F-02 or F-80)You have at least two years of experience working in social service, residential settingThe ideal candidate must have a working knowledge of substance abuse, mental illness, and homelessnessYou have the ability to work independentlyYou have excellent interpersonal and organizational skillsYou have excellent oral and written communication skillsYou have proficient computer skills - internet and Microsoft OfficeKey Responsibilities:Function as a liaison between the residents and the staffCollaborate with the Security staff to ensure the safety and well-being of the residentsPerform hourly patrols in the residenceManage any challenging situations and crises that may occur at the residenceResponsible for handling any incidents that may occur at the residence and completing an Incident Report form, as neededCommunicate noteworthy events to the Program Director and the Clinical team as well as document them in the appropriate logbookAttend all mandatory staff meetingsEnsure all aspects of Fire Alarm System (FAS) are working properly and are up to code with FDNYVisually inspect and document all components of the FASOther duties as assignedInterested?Submit your application for review.Before you go, we want to assure you that we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace reflective of individuals who share our mission and who want to join us in working on the cutting-edge of important social issues.
