The Test Engineer will assist in test setup, supervise and participate in testing, analyze results, and troubleshoot test data, develop test procedures as part of a team, and report test results.Job ResponsibilitiesInvolved with the design, development and execution of test programs to measure the functionality and integrity of products and servicesWrite test procedures and protocols to assess product reliability and evaluate the ability of products to meet performance standards and specificationsSupport scheduling and prioritizing lab testsDebug test hardware and softwareJob Responsibilities Part IIResponsible for technical activity and completion of assigned task on time and budgetDesign, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems, or subsystemsMay use computer-aided engineering or other design / analysis software in the performance of assignmentsReport of progress and status regularlyProvide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignmentsSpecify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and servicesSupport the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirementsDevelop prototypes to retire key development risksCommunicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as requiredParticipates in preparation of less-complex proposalsMay provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnelSupport, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationQualificationsBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or related technical field with 5-plus years experienceEPA 608 Certification or the ability to obtain itExperience with the measurement of temperature, pressure, and flowComfortable and competent operating mechanical components and equipment, preferably HVAC&R (air conditioning, air handling and refrigeration) equipment and/or centrifugal pumps and variable frequency drivesCompetency with MS Office software tools including Word, Excel and PowerPointComfortable and competent writing and creating technical documentationDesired QualificationsExperience with laboratory equipmentExperience working with fluid handling systems including pumps, control valves, piping systems,Experience designing and/or assembling plumbing/piping systemsExperience using LabView or other data acquisition systemsComfortable and competent reading flowsheets or piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID)U.S. Citizenship required.Taking care of our people is a top priority at Leonardo DRS.
