Accountant

DescriptionWe are looking for an Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for a long-term contract opportunity based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable handling core accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with routine transactional work across the month-end cycle. The selected candidate will contribute hands-on support in a fast-paced environment while helping keep reconciliations, entries, and payables processes organized and up to date.Responsibilities:- Perform bank account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial records are complete and accurate.- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items in a timely manner.- Record routine journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and general ledger coding.- Assist with accounts payable activities, including invoice review, account coding, and processing payment batches.- Support basic accounts receivable tasks and help maintain accurate transaction records.- Execute ACH payments and check runs in accordance with established internal controls and deadlines.- Use Epicor to enter, review, and track accounting transactions and supporting information.- Provide tactical accounting support during ongoing process and automation-related operational changes as needed.Requirements- At least 2 years of accounting experience in an accountant or similar hands-on accounting role.- Working knowledge of bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entry preparation.- Experience supporting accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and payment processing.- Familiarity with ACH transactions and check run procedures.- Ability to manage detailed transactional work with strong accuracy and organization.- Proficiency working within accounting software; experience with Epicor is preferred.- Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently on routine accounting assignments.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
