Overview
As a Technical Solutions Engineer, you help customers adopt Google Cloud by diagnosing and resolving complex issues, building tools for faster diagnosis, and advocating for customer needs with cross-functional teams. You will liaise with Product, Engineering, and Site Reliability teams to improve production reliability and user experience, while driving scalable support across a 24x7 global organization. This role blends debugging, networking, system administration, and scripting to reduce time-to-resolution and shape product improvements.

ResponsibilitiesDiagnose, triage, and resolve customer issues on Google Cloud Platform productsAct as a subject matter expert for Engineering, Sales, and customers to remove deployment obstaclesDevelop tooling and processes to speed diagnosis and remediationCollaborate with Product, Engineering, and SRE teams to improve product reliability and production systemsUpdate documentation and contribute to scalable support workflowsTroubleshoot across debugging, networking, system administration, and scripting as neededAdvocate for customer needs and feedback to cross-functional teamsParticipate in complex multi-node workload debugging and problem reproduction
Key requirementsBachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience5+ years troubleshooting and advocating for customer needs5+ years of experience with computer networking and web technologies (e.g., HTTP, HTML, DNS)Experience as a system administrator with Linux/Unix or Windows systemsExperience with one or more core programming or scripting languages (e.g., C, C++, C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash, Shell, Perl, Visual Basic)Strong communication and collaborationCustomer empathy and advocacyProblem-solving orientationLinux/Unix and Windows system administrationNetworking and web technologies (HTTP, HTML, DNS)Programming/scripting languages (C, C++, C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash, Shell, Perl, Visual Basic)
