The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the planning, coordination, and execution of residential and commercial construction projects from pre-construction through close-out. This role works closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to King Built's standards of quality and performance. The APM will gain end-to-end construction management experience and is expected to grow into a Project Manager role over time.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Project Manager in creating and updating project schedules
Coordinate subcontractor sequencing, material deliveries, and inspections
Track progress and maintain weekly reporting to project leadership
Attend internal and subcontractor coordination meetings and document action items
Organize, maintain, and distribute project documents: drawings, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, etc.
Manage contract documentation, change order logs, and pay application tracking
Assist in project close-out documentation, warranties, and punch list coordination
Ensure compliance documents (insurance, permits, safety, lien waivers) are accurate and current
Assist with budget tracking, cost coding, and invoice review
Support the preparation of draw requests and progress billing packages
Identify and communicate potential cost or schedule impacts early
Maintain accurate cost documentation to support forecasting and reporting
Support clear communication between the office, field teams, subcontractors, and clients
Help ensure client expectations and design intent are carried through operations
Represent King Built professionally at all times, on-site and in correspondence
Conduct site visits to verify progress, quality, and safety compliance
Assist Superintendents in coordinating inspections and resolving field questions
Reinforce company safety standards and document safety observations
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
2 to 5 years of experience in construction management, coordination, estimating, or field supervision
Working understanding of construction sequencing and trade coordination
Proficiency in Buildertrend, Procore, or similar software, plus Microsoft Office
Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules
Self-driven, detail-oriented, and eager to learn and advance
Compensation & Benefits
Full-time, W-2 Employee.
Pay: $55,000 to $75,000+ annually, depending on experience
