Milber Makris Plousadis & Seiden, LLP, a full-service civil litigation defense firm and business partner to the insurance industry, is seeking highly motivated defense attorneys to join our busy Purchase, New York office. Candidates must be licensed to practice in New York or eligible for admission and knowledgeable of New York Court Rules. We are looking for the right candidates to join our team.Seeking defense attorneys with ANY of the following experience:Attorney licensed or eligible for licensure in New YorkAttorney with 4-8+ years' experience in medical malpractice defense litigationAttorney with 2-6 years' litigation experience in general liability OR automobile liabilityAttorney with 2-5 years of experience in insurance defense litigationAttorney with 2-5 years' experience handling professional liability claims and/or representing architects and engineers and handling complex construction claimsAttorney with 4-8+ years' experience defending construction accident/New York Labor Law claimsQualification requirements:J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law schoolAdmitted to practice in New York and in good standing or eligible for admission in New York.Exhibits an in-depth knowledge of New York Court Rules and Procedures.Demonstrated excellence in research, writing, and legal analysisStrong work ethic, ability to manage caseload and work in a team environmentHighly detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlinesExperience taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing substantive motions, attending hearings and trials preferredDuties and responsibilities of attorneys include but are not limited to:Managing caseload (with oversight by partners depending on experience level)Drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery responsesResearch and writing of memorandumsReporting to clientsAttending hearings and court conferencesConducting and defending depositionsAttending site inspectionsConsulting with expert witnessesAttending mediationsTrial preparation and trialsMMP&S Benefits Include:Health Insurance, Health Savings Account, Dental options, Vision options, Life Insurance, Long-Term Disability Insurance, Short-Term Disability Options, Flexible Spending Account, 401(k) Plan, AFLAC, Pet Insurance, Continuing Legal Education*Salary commensurate with experience*Bonus Opportunities
