Field Technician

Compensation: $35-42/hour (Based on experience)Location: Service Center in Oceanside, CA + Field Work (Primarily Southern California)Travel Required: Yes — Local (San Diego to Los Angeles) and occasional travel in San Francisco areaAbout the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and reliable Field Technician to join our team. This hands-on role involves servicing laboratory equipment (centrifuges, PCRs, incubators, shakers, and other lab products) through testing, calibration, preventative maintenance, and repairs. You'll be the face of our company at customer sites, ensuring equipment is functioning optimally and clients are satisfied.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform testing, calibration, maintenance, and repairs on lab equipmentComplete service reports and documentation accuratelyCommunicate equipment issues promptly and thoroughly to managementSchedule and conduct service appointments and follow-ups with customersDuring downtime, create and improve new processes and calibration procedures or perform other admin tasksRequired Skills & QualificationsStrong understanding of electrical components and wiring diagramsAbility to troubleshoot electrical failures (e.g., fans, motors, relays, sensors)Great interpersonal skillsBasic computer knowledge is requiredMust be presentableKnowledge in using hand tools and a multimeterValid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle with insuranceClean criminal record (background checks required by clients)Ability to pass drug screenings (random tests conducted by clients)Excellent punctuality and reliability — self-scheduling required for some jobsWork is split between our Oceanside service center and customer sites90% of travel is local (San Diego to Los Angeles)Occasional travelWork HoursFull-time positionHours vary based on scheduled services, typically within standard daytime hoursFlexibility required to meet customer and company needsHourly Rate: $35-42/hourMileage Reimbursement: $0.65/mile for personal vehicle usePaid trainingTools are providedContract TermsPerformance review at end of termPotential for 1-year renewal based on mutual agreementWhy Join Us?We offer a dynamic work environment, the opportunity to travel, and the chance to work with cutting-edge lab equipment.
