The role includes preventive care, diagnosis, treatment planning, restorative procedures, oral surgery, and endodontic treatment. The dentist works with dental assistants, hygienists, and residents and participates in patient education and community health programs.ResponsibilitiesProvide routine and emergency dental services including exams, fillings, crowns, extractions, and root canal treatmentDevelop and implement treatment plans based on patient diagnosisReview and interpret dental X-rays and diagnostic testsAdminister local anesthesia and prescribe medications when requiredEducate patients on oral hygiene, prevention, and follow-up careRefer patients to specialists and coordinate careSupervise and support dental assistants, hygienists, and residentsParticipate in clinic programs, training sessions, and community outreach activitiesMinimum QualificationsDDS or DMD from an accredited dental schoolCompletion of General Practice Residency (GPR) or equivalent clinical experienceActive Hawaii dental license or eligibility for licensureCPR or BLS certificationTB clearance within the last 12 monthsAt least 1 year of experience in general dentistry preferredExperience with restorative dentistry, oral surgery, and endodontic procedures
