Senior Java Developer (ML / AI)

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Senior Java Developer (ML & AI) position! This is a 6-12 months contract and will be hybrid in Charlotte, NC. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered. What You'll Be Doing:Lead business requirement gathering sessions and translate business needs into technical solutions for in-house payroll and workforce management applicationsDesign and coordinate development efforts with offshore development teams, ensuring alignment on architecture, implementation, and delivery timelinesBuild and integrate AI-driven solutions and machine learning models into enterprise Java applications to enhance payroll processing, staffing solutions, and workforce analyticsDevelop and implement AI-powered features including intelligent search, predictive analytics, recommendations, and chatbots using Generative AI, LLMs, and AI APIsDesign and maintain robust, scalable backend services using Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.3, focusing on RESTful APIs and microservices architectureCollaborate with Data Scientists and ML Engineers to deploy, monitor, and optimize AI/ML models within production environmentsBuild responsive front-end interfaces using Angular, ensuring seamless user experience and cross-browser compatibilityParticipate in CI/CD pipeline management and cloud deployments using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Optimize database performance and design schemas for both relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databasesDebug and resolve complex technical issues across the full stack while maintaining high code quality standards What You'll Need to Have:8+ years of professional experience as a Full Stack Java Developer, with recent project work in payroll systems, staffing solutions, or workforce management applicationsStrong expertise in Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.3, with proven ability to build enterprise-grade applications2+ years of hands-on experience with machine learning integration and demonstrated proficiency with AI tools and frameworksSolid front-end development skills using Angular, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScriptProven experience integrating AI/ML models, Generative AI, and LLMs into business applicationsStrong understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and cloud platform deployment (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and containerization technologiesProficiency with both SQL and NoSQL databases, including query optimization and schema design Pay Range: $55-$60/hr Questions about any of our jobs?
