HART United is committed to fostering meaningful opportunities for personal growth and community engagement for the individuals it serves.Role DescriptionWe are seeking a full-time, on-site Direct Support Professional (DSP) based in Shelton, CT. The DSP will provide compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting with daily living activities, personal development, and social engagement. Responsibilities include supporting clients in their homes or community, facilitating skill-building activities, and ensuring their safety and well-being. The DSP will also participate in training programs and maintain accurate records of client progress and activities.QualificationsKnowledge of Human Services and understanding of Intellectual DisabilitiesStrong Interpersonal Skills and effective Communication abilitiesExperience in providing Training and support to individualsAbility to work in a team-oriented environment and build meaningful relationshipsHigh school diploma or GED required; additional education in a related field is a plusValid driver’s license with a clean driving record (as applicable to the duties)Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities
