This role is crucial in managing metadata and supporting data governance functions needed by the Virginia Office of Data Governance and Analyst, aimed at maintaining and organizing critical data assets.In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:Maintain data catalog and business metadata for strategic data assets.Support development of data taxonomy, dictionary, and business glossaries.On-board domain data sources to the data catalog.Collaborate with business analysts and solution designers to identify critical data elements.Oversee metadata artifacts maintenance, address issues, and document data lineage.Perform metadata and data quality audits, troubleshooting, and sensitivity classification.Utilize Power Platform for automation and track tasks using JIRA.Assist the Office of the Chief Data Officer in emergency situations.This Role Comes With The Following BenefitsStandard work schedule from Monday to Friday.This Role Requires You To Have1-2 years of data analyst experience with data management tools like Purview or Informatica.SQL proficiency and understanding of data systems infrastructures.Attention to detail and strong work ethic.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Must comply with Conflict-of-Interest Act and pass background checks.You Would Benefit From HavingAzure or Data certifications, big-data environment experience.Knowledge of data governance and security practices.Proficiency in Excel formulas and complex spreadsheets management.Experience with Power Platforms.Selected candidates must adhere to the Conflict-of-Interest Act, pass a fingerprint background check, and sign a Confidentiality Statement.
