Yard Labor Supervisor
Position ObjectiveTo supervise the yard staff, activities, sales, services, and maintenance in a safe and timely manner that will optimize the cooperative's market share and savings, improve the cooperative's efficiency, help achieve the cooperative's mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service.RequirementsKey ResponsibilitiesAssist the department manager in monitoring inventory levels daily and reports lows as necessaryMaintain clean and orderly inventory and yard areaArrange seasonal materialsAssist in maintaining inventoryReceive inventory and deliver salesLoad and unload incoming freightCheck all in-shipments for accuracy against the bill of lading; check packing slips for proper quantity; and note any damageLoad and deliver all sales in an accurate and timely mannerSales and Service Sales and service involves providing customer service that will result in greater salesGreet customers promptly and courteouslyAssist customers with unloading and loadingPromptly and courteously answer the phoneWork with customers to resolve problems and report complaints to your supervisorSuggest other items for purchase, when appropriateActively work to increase personal skills and knowledgeAttend product, merchandising, and cooperative meetings as requestedBill accurately and clearly communicates details of deliveryEnforce and uphold CFE's credit policyWear a clean uniform and be neatMake arrangements ahead of time for coverage of duties in case of a planned absence, such as vacation, or an unplanned absence, such as illnessMake customer retention a priority of all employees that work in operations at CFEMake customer service a priority for all employees to retain satisfied customersMaintenance Maintenance involves maintaining property, facilities, and equipment.Ensure property, facilities, and equipment remain in good repair and appearanceMake recommendations on replacement, additions, or deletions of facilities and equipment when needed and/or economically justifiedMaintain a clean and orderly yardArrange seasonal displaysReporting Inform your supervisor of discrepancies in your reports as soon as you are aware of themInform your supervisor of potential problems or potential new business opportunities directly or indirectly related to your departmentReport any unsafe equipment or working conditions to your supervisorReport any needed repairs or special maintenance to your supervisor immediatelySafety and Compliance Uphold cooperative policiesFollow and comply with all laws and regulations both State and FederalAttend employee safety meetings, etc. held as required or scheduled in conjunction with Safety Director or locationOther Duties Perform other duties as assigned by managementCollaboratively work with location, departmental personnelAttitude consistently mirrors the company image and promotes fellow employee teamworkPresent a professional image through words, actions, and personal appearanceCollaboratively work with all departments with in location and CFE as neededBasic Qualifications: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experienceClass A CDL license (or must be able to obtain within 60 days)Ability to work long seasonal hoursDetailed oriented to provide accurate and consistent workExcellent customer service skillsBasic math skillsAbility to manage multiple projects at a time and demonstrate good attention to detailPhysical DemandsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
