Fire Protection Engineer - Remote
Position Summary
The Fire Protection Engineer provides decisive guidance and direction on the technical aspects of Fire Protection Engineering and Life Safety related to building structures, with overall responsibility for technical quality, cost, and schedule of fire protection deliverables on active healthcare facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide engineering leadership for fire protection and life safety system design, review, and inspection on healthcare facility projects.
Apply NFPA codes and standards, UFC criteria, and federal healthcare facility design guidelines to all designs and reviews.
Analyze building life safety designs, shop drawing submittals, and acceptance testing of fire protection and life safety systems.
Review and resolve engineering issues associated with construction and specification documents.
Coordinate fire protection design with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines.
Manage technical quality, cost, and schedule of fire protection scope across assigned projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Protection Engineering from an accredited University.
5-10 years of experience in engineering and life safety management for building structures.
Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards within the building industry.
Experience analyzing building life safety designs and shop drawing submittals; experience with acceptance testing of fire protection and life safety systems.
Ability to review and resolve engineering issues associated with construction and specification documents.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Fire Protection Required.
Healthcare, federal, or hospital project experience preferred.
Federal Contract Requirements
Tier 1 Low Risk / Non-Sensitive background investigation (NACI / SF-85) required prior to assignment.
Must abide by all client facility rules, security procedures, and safety regulations.
Employees represent themselves as contracted personnel, not federal employees, and do not perform inherently governmental functions.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
