General Description The Department of Economics at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland seeks faculty candidates beginning in Fall 2026. We invite faculty for all ranks and all areas of specialization and will likely prioritize candidates for two endowed positions (1) the Aronson Family Professorship in Economics seeks applicants with expertise in healthcare economics and healthcare policy, or the economics of cities, and (2) the Steven M. Kaye Professor of Economics will prioritize applicants whose research focuses on health economics, urban economics, the economics of inequality, labor economics, or public economics more generally.All appointees at the Associate and Full Professor level are expected to be preeminent experts in their field. All candidates should be committed to both research and teaching excellence. All appointees are expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate level. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
