Maintenance B Technician

Maintenance Technician BPurposeThe Maintenance Worker "B" performs facility maintenance requirements on CNC machines. Keep facility areas clean and in an orderly condition. Work successfully with co-workers, customers, contractors, & others. Understand and follow instructions, both verbal and written. Understand instructions for tasks using basic maintenance and communication skills.Education and ExperienceHigh School diploma or equivalent required.3 years of general maintenance experience required2 years of previous maintenance experience on CNC machinesPosition ResponsibilitiesInstall, maintain and repair CNC machines and equipment in plant and related facilities.Identify and perform a variety of repairs and preventative maintenance on parts, pumps, motors, hydraulic systems and related plant and facility equipment.Perform a variety of maintenance machine and facility repairs.Responsible for training and development of Maintenance Level C & D employees.Operates tools, equipment, and machinery in the maintenance repair, and fabrication of parts, machines and equipment.Completes work orders and paperwork regarding daily maintenance and repair duties.Ensure compliance with operating policies and procedures.Follow all safety requirements for the individual as well as other employees.Keeping the work area clean and in orderly conditionAssemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems using schematics and machine prints.Oversight of Material Recycling and Coolant Programs.Monitor and report to supervision, inventory levels of consumable items.Perform preventative maintenance on plant and facility equipment.Perform maintenance requiring knowledge of skilled trades as appropriate or applicable.Complete mid-level PMs and tickets.Respond to hazardous waste incidents.Use of lifts and ladders.Grounds keepingFacility upkeep including light plumbing and electrical dutiesManage chip and recycling programManage coolant programPerform low level PM's and ticketsMust be able to pass a DMV background check to operate a company vehicleKnowledgeProduction and ProcessingKnowledge of machine related parts, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effectiveness maintenance has on manufacture and distribution of goods.Able to obtain certifications and trainingEducation and TrainingKnowledge of maintenance documentation including tickets, work orders, blueprints, and machine specifications.English LanguageKnowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.Computers and ElectronicsKnowledge of GSS systems, computer programs and software.SkillsBasic SkillsActive Learning Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.Active Listening Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Critical Thinking Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.Learning Strategies Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.Mathematics Using mathematics to solve problems.Monitoring Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.Reading Comprehension Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.Speaking Talking to others to convey information effectively and appropriately.Writing Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the audience.Social SkillsCoordination Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.Instructing Teaching others how to complete a process.Negotiation Bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences.Persuasion Persuading others to change their minds or behavior.Service Orientation Actively looking for ways to help people.Social Perceptiveness Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.Complex Problem-Solving SkillsComplex Problem Solving Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.Technical SkillsOperations Analysis Analyzing needs and requirements to create a resolution.Mechanical Aptitude Able to disassemble and repair machines in the shop and basic wiring knowledge (understanding wiring diagrams and how to use a voltage meter).
