divh2Certified Nursing Assistant LTC/h2pOur client, a healthcare company, is looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant LTC for their Wrangell, AK location./ph3Responsibilities:/h3ulliTo provide basic nursing care to non-acute and/or acutely ill residents while maintaining a safe and clean environment./liliMust have the ability to react in a calm functional manner and make sound judgments within scope of duties when taking care of ill patients/residents and in the event of emergencies./liliJob requires lifting of patients/residents who are non-ambulatory on a regular interval./liliMentally requires a caring attitude in dealing with both acute and non-acute patients/residents and families on a steady basis./liliJob pace is rapid and there is constant pressure on the job to complete nursing assignments and answer patient call lights./liliMaintain accountability for all actions taken./liliAccept delegation from supervising LN./liliThis position is covered under the Indian Child Protection Act./li/ulh3Accountabilities:/h3ulliObtains Nursing Data Through Interviewing And Observing Residents Under A Lns (Licensed Nurse) Direction And Review Though Tasks Such As:/liliDocuments observation findings that are consistent with other providers under a LNs supervision; provides general nursing care for the adult, and geriatric population, which may include but not limited to: bed bath, oral hygiene, combing hair, back care, dressing patients, application of appliances for heat and cold; application of anti-embolism stockings or SCDs; monitors and records temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, blood sugar, pulse oximetry and intake-output measurements/liliCollects and transports specimens to correct departments; able to distinguish between normal and abnormal findings as identified in the patient care plan or data collection tools and reports abnormal findings to the LN and records findings as appropriate; reports (and when appropriate, records) any changes observed in condition or behavior of patients/residents and unusual incidents./li/ulh3Provides Bed Side Care, Which May Include:/h3ulliPositioning residents, lifting and turning residents, assisting in use of bedpan, urinal or commode; answers call lights; makes rounds to assigned residents; ambulates residents, transporting to and from various departments as required; assist residents with meals or feeds residents; aids in handling and the care of residents belongings (including dentures, glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids, prosthetic devices, etc.) throughout their stay; changing bed linen; cleaning over bed table and bedside stand, straightening room and other general care as needed./liliAssisting LN with readying a resident for transport from the department, which may include but not limited to: making phone calls, copying papers and chart, and providing direct resident care./liliProviding 1:1 care/sitting for residents when indicated for patient/resident safety./li/ulh3Maintains A Safe And Clean Environment By:/h3ulliPreparing nursing areas and/or resident rooms and beds for receiving resident admissions, transfers, emergencies or discharges; assists in cleaning utility rooms, cleaning equipment and preparing for disinfection or sterilization; reports equipment that is out of order, reporting other problems to nurse manager or charge nurse; appropriately handles clean and dirty linen and stores supplies on the service area and other duties as assigned. Perform supply duties on a daily basis-- distributing and ordering supplies to maintain adequate stock levels in assigned units./liliDisposing of all solid waste and infectious waste according to organizational policies and procedures./liliReplenishing supplies in resident rooms and bathrooms as needed./li/ulh3Unit Specialty:/h3ulliFor Critical Access Hospital/liliObtains 12- lead Electrocardiograms (ECGs)/liliTrains and performs the mechanics of Telemetry monitoring of patients within the inpatient unit./liliBecomes a Point of Care Trainer within 3 months of obtaining CNA II/liliCross trains to additional areas of the hospital (Emergency Department, Labor Delivery, and Surgical Department) for fluidity of staffing/liliCross trains to the Senior Office Specialist (SOS)/ Ward Clerk positions to understand and be able to perform the position in times of high census or vacancy./liliInitiates and participates in a Performance/Process Improvement project within the unit./liliServes as preceptor for incoming CNA staff and CNA students./li/ulh3Requirements:/h3ulliApplicant Must Have Current Alaska License/liliHigh school diploma or equivalent/lili1 year prior experience as a CNA preferred/liliCurrent full, unrestricted CNA license in the state of Alaska/liliCurrent BLS/liliMust take and pass courses as specific to unit needs (i.e. POC/waived testing, etc.)/liliLong Term Care (LTC), CNA, CNA LTC/liliMinimum Years Of Experience: Less than 1 year/liliACLS/liliBLS/BCLS/liliPALS/liliNRP/liliATT/li/ulh3Why Should You Apply?/h3ulliHealth Benefits/liliReferral Program/liliExcellent growth and advancement opportunities/li/ulpICONMA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
