This role offers extraordinary long-term growth potential and is ideal for individuals looking to transition out of public accounting.Position Overview: The Private Equity Accounting Associate will play a key role in the financial operations of the firm, working closely with the VP of Finance. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and detail-oriented professional to contribute to the success of our firm and advance their career within private equity. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 3 years of experience in public accounting, preferably with exposure to financial services or investment management clients.Key Responsibilities:Fund Accounting: Assist in the review of quarterly and annual financial statements for private equity funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. The fund accounting is outsourced but you will need to review it. Investor Reporting: Prepare and distribute capital calls, distributions, and quarterly investor reports. Respond to investor inquiries and provide ad-hoc reporting as needed.Valuation Support: Assist in the valuation process for portfolio companies, working closely with the investment team to ensure accurate and timely reporting.Cash Management: Monitor and manage cash flows for the funds, including tracking capital commitments, investments, and distributions.Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and resolving any audit-related issues.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including the preparation and filing of Form PF and other relevant regulatory filings.Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function.Ad-Hoc Projects: Support the VP of Finance with various special projects and initiatives as the firm continues to grow.Qualifications:Experience: 1.5-3 years of experience in public accounting, preferably with a focus on financial services or investment management clients. Private equity experience is a plus.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CPA candidacy is highly preferred.Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of GAAP, particularly as it relates to investment accounting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Investran, or similar).Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, investors, and external auditors.Work Ethic: High level of integrity, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.
