Solar Technician

The RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated Staffed Field Technician with utility-scale solar experience to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on solar PV systems. This role is site-based, supporting a facility in and around Cherry Valley, Arkansas.TravelThis is a Staffed position meaning there is no travel involved. You will be reporting to a couple sites in Cherry Valley. Other than that, no travel is required.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Conducting on-site routine maintenance, service, troubleshooting and repair of solar photovoltaic facilitiesDC and AC testing included but not limited to polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding continuity, communication, insulation resistance testing, I-V curve tracingMaintaining the vehicle, tools, meters and truck stockCreating service reports and maintaining spare parts inventoryIdentify safety hazards and take appropriate action to remove or eliminate hazardsCreate operability and major issue/downtime reportsRespond on-call for emergencies as directed by your supervisorPreferred Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:NABCEP Certified Installation Professional3-4+ years of experience PV maintenance, including PV DC operations, AC medium voltage systems, network communications and monitoringExperience with operation of SCADA, DAS and UPS systemsSkilled in the use of testing equipment and tools such as Thermographic Electrical Inspection, IV Curve Tracing, Meggers, Ground Fault DetectionExperience in all aspects of PV maintenance, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and network communications and monitoringDiagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot and correct problems foundKnowledge of National Electrical Code and standard design/construction practicesAbility to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagramsValid Driver’s LicenseOSHA 10 HR TrainingNFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in workplacePhysical Requirements/Work Environment:Work is to be performed in the field and in the office.Understanding of and adherence to safety and quality procedures and practicesMust be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures. PPE personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; hard hat, arc flash protection, safety glasses, hearing protection)Must have the ability to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk for 8-10 hours a day.Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basisLocation: The role is remote with a home base in the Cherry Valley, Arkansas area, with the expectation of daily commute to project site within the surrounding region. Daily in-person presence on site is required. Candidates must be comfortable with daily local travel and managing work both in the field and remote.
