We embrace the Strengthening Family Framework.Job Title: Child Care Services Specialist (Family Services)Department: Family Services UnitReports To: Supervisor, Family Services UnitFLSA Status: Full Time, Non-ExemptSalary Range: $28.84-$30.44 Per Hour DOEPosition Summary: The Child Care Services Specialist (CCSS) is responsible for ensuring participants are eligible and have a need for the child care services and assisting them through all phases of the Child Care Payment Programs.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Responsible for developing a professional working relationship with the participants on the programResponsible for requesting/collecting documentation for need and eligibility for participants in accordance with CDSS Rules & regulations, Title 5 Regulations and 4Cs policiesResponsible for determining/maintaining need and eligibility for a caseload of approx. 160 children and updating the files in a timely mannerResponsible for having a solid understanding of the CDSS Rules & Regulations, Title 5 Regulations and 4Cs program policiesResponsible for explaining the rules/regulations and procedures to the participants.Responsible for referring suspected fraud files to the SupervisorResponsible for the mailings of all program forms, letters, program guide to participantsResponsible for assessing family fees and assisting with the Family Fee receipts/collection process, if neededResponsible for maintaining confidentiality of participant's informationResponsible for covering the front desk in the absence of the ReceptionistResponsible for assisting and facilitating group & one on one orientationResponsible for resolving issues among participants, providers, co-workersResponsible for embracing the Strengthening Families FrameworkResponsible for providing outside resources/information to familiesAssist with transfer process of Stage 2 filesAssists with processing and maintaining personal and confidential family and agency informationResponsible for keeping confidential information safe and securePerform other duties the Supervisor may assignCompetencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following.Teamwork - Balances team and individual responsibilities; exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views; gives and welcomes feedback; contributes to building a positive team spirit; puts success of team above own interests; able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives; supports everyone's efforts to succeed.Effective Verbal Communication Skills - Expresses ideas and thoughts verbally; expresses ideas and thoughts in written form; exhibits good listening and comprehension; keeps others adequately informed; selects and uses appropriate communication methods.Organizational Support - Follows policies and procedures; completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; supports organization's goals and values; benefits organization through outside activities; supports affirmative action and respects diversity.Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality; applies feedback to improve performance; monitors own work to ensure quality.Job Knowledge - Competent in required job skills and knowledge; exhibits ability to learn and apply new skills; keeps abreast of current developments; requires minimal supervision; displays understanding of how job relates to others; uses resources effectively.Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Transportation is required for this position.Education/Experience:Associate of Arts Degree preferred, and one to two years' case management and customer service experience.Language Ability:Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.Mathematical Ability:Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.Reasoning Ability:Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Computer Skills:Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office required. Proven experience utilizing social media platforms preferred.Certificates and Licenses:No certifications needed.Supervisory Responsibilities:This job has no supervisory responsibilities.Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
