Technical Program Manager - Hardware Development Overview of the RoleOur client, a leader in advanced mobility and autonomous technology, is seeking a Technical Program Manager to support next-generation hardware development programs. This role will oversee the full product development lifecycle, partnering with engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional stakeholders to bring complex hardware systems from concept through validation and into production. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing hardware development programs, coordinating engineering builds, working with contract manufacturers, and driving execution across hardware, software, firmware, systems, and operations teams.Duration: 6-month contractHours: 40 hours per weekLocation: Foster City, CASchedule: Hybrid, minimum 3 days onsite per weekRequired Qualifications6+ years of Technical Program Management or Engineering Program Management experienceProven experience managing hardware development programs from concept through EVT, DVT, PVT, and production rampBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experienceExperience working closely with contract manufacturers throughout development and production phasesStrong understanding of hardware product development processes and manufacturing operationsExperience partnering with cross-functional teams across hardware, software, firmware, systems engineering, procurement, and operationsStrong project planning, risk management, and stakeholder communication skillsProficiency with Jira, project schedules, Gantt charts, and program management toolsAbility to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments and effectively manage competing prioritiesPreferred QualificationsAutomotive, autonomous vehicle, robotics, or consumer electronics experienceExperience managing integrated hardware and software development programsExposure to functional safety processes and requirementsMaster's degree in Engineering or a related technical disciplineExperience supporting mass production and post-production sustaining activitiesKey ResponsibilitiesOwn end-to-end program management of hardware development initiatives from concept, architecture, and design through production rampBuild and maintain detailed project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and product roadmapsCoordinate activities across hardware, software, firmware, systems, procurement, manufacturing, and vehicle development teamsPartner with contract manufacturers to plan prototype, engineering, and validation buildsDrive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) feedback into development processesIdentify program risks early and drive mitigation plans to resolutionFacilitate cross-functional meetings, establish clear decision points, and remove execution roadblocksCreate and deliver program status updates, risk assessments, and executive-level reportingTrack dependencies, align priorities, and ensure stakeholders remain informed throughout the development lifecycleSupport strategic and operational decision-making across engineering, finance, and business teamsIn this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data.
