Welder
Summary
The Combo Pipe Welder position requires a skilled individual with a strong foundation in blueprint reading, mechanical knowledge, and welding techniques such as MIG, FCAW, and TIG welding. In addition to proficiency in pipe threading, soldering, and using both hand and power tools, the ideal candidate should possess experience in fire sprinkler fitting and stick welding. Knowledge of rigging, manufacturing, and construction practices, as well as familiarity with ASME codes & standards, are essential for success in this role. The ability to work with calipers, schematics, Refrigeration systems, tube bending, and plumbing is also crucial. A valid driver's license is required for this position.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints to understand project requirements
Utilize mechanical knowledge to perform pipe welding tasks accurately
Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete welding projects
Perform pipe threading and soldering as needed
Apply basic math skills for measurements and calculations
Demonstrate proficiency in TIG, and Stick welding techniques
Conduct fire sprinkler fitting tasks when required
Utilize rigging skills for moving materials and equipment
Work on manufacturing and construction projects following safety protocols
Use calipers and schematics for precise measurements and layouts
Adhere to ASME codes & standards for welding projects
Assist with assembly and plumbing tasks as necessary
Possess a valid driver's license for transportation to job sites.
Proven experience as a Combo Pipe Welder or in a similar industrial welding role
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols
Solid mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in pipe fabrication and installation
Proficiency in TIG, and Stick (SMAW) welding, including pipe welding in multiple positions
Experience with pipe threading, soldering, tube bending, and plumbing systems
Familiarity with ASME codes and standards applicable to welding and piping
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring tools such as calipers
Knowledge of rigging practices for safely moving materials and equipment
Experience working in manufacturing and construction environments, following safety protocols
Understanding of refrigeration systems and related piping applications is preferred
Strong basic math skills for measurements, layouts, and material calculations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines
Physically capable of performing job duties, including lifting, bending, and working in various positions
Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to job sites as required
