Clinical Supervisor - Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP)

Maintains qualifications as a SUDP and Clinical Supervisor. Provides up to 120 hours per month of direct counseling and case management services to patients; consisting of individual, group, family and educational services; including assessment, counseling and aftercare services. Provides supervision of SUDP, SUDP trainees, clinical support staff, students and clinical volunteers. Provides clinical support to Recovery Navigator Program: R.E.A.L. staff. Prepares patient progress reports and completion notices and provides them to the courts, probation departments, and referral sources as appropriate. Helps implement the policies and procedures of the agency, including personnel, treatment services and records. Prepares written performance evaluations for new hires and annually thereafter for clinical staff. Conducts regular meetings for clinical staff to discuss matters pertaining to treatment issues, policies and procedures, case management, and staff relations. Assists the Administrator in updating the agency clinical manual. Coordinates assignments concerning assessment, intake, individual counseling, group sessions, and educational programs. Monitors the case managers' implementation of problem-oriented records system by periodically reviewing case files from each case manager. Advises the Administrator on specific training needs of the clinical staff members and recommends an appropriate course of action. Organizes curriculum content and monitors all treatment program sessions provided by the agency. Undergraduate degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university preferred; and is qualified as a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP). Must have a minimum of 3000 hours of experience in a state approved substance use disorder treatment agency in addition to the supervised experience hours required to become a substance use disorder professional. Not having a history of alcohol or other drug misuse for a period of five years before employment as a SUDP and not display evidence of misuse of alcohol or other drugs while a employed. Understands and adheres to state and federal confidentiality regulations. Conducts self ethically and professionally at all times. The ability to coordinate and supervise clinical staff; deal effectively with courts, probation departments, and other agencies and professionals; and develop and supervise successful treatment programs for various types of patients are essential. Managerial and organizational skills are required. Knowledge of and culturally sensitive to the problems of the patients of this agency. Documented competency in clinical supervision. This person must be of the conviction that substance use disorders are a treatable illness and constitutes a public health problem. This person must sign an oath of confidentiality covering all patient-related information and complete a Washington State Patrol background check. Wage is based on education and experience.
